YORKSHIRE

Although the weather was very windy, thousands of people attended this popular annual charity event at the Piece Hall in Halifax. Many visited and supported a variety of well presented local charity stands and enjoyed lots of live music and dance on the big stage.

BBC Look North's presenter Christa Ackroyd was this year's celebrity visitor. Christa spoke about her career for local radio station, Phoenix FM.

We are most grateful to the Halifax Street Angels, who invited us to share their stand. We are thankful for the opportunity to make more people aware that leprosy still exists today and what we are doing to fight this dreadful disease. The Street Angels will also take part in the Yorkshire Duck Race with us on Saturday 9 July at Bolton Abbey. Don't miss this great day!
