Winners of the 2009 East Central Photographic Competition
Thank you to everyone who submitted their photographs for our photographic competition and congratulations to all the winners. The theme was 'Now thank we all our God'.
Special thanks to Revd Hugh McKee, retired Area Co-ordinator for Yorkshire, who kindly judged the entries.
The winners are:
Category 1
"Now thank we all our God, with hearts and hands and voices".
Winner: Mrs Kay Marples from Egginton
Comments from Revd Hugh McKee:
"Hand weaving of the bamboo Celtic Cross. This nicely caught the rough and ready work of the hands of ordinary people creating a symbol at the heart of Christian Praise. Its simplicity was appealing"
Category 2
"Who wondrous things hath done, in whom his world rejoices"
Winner: Norma Darey from Glenfield, Leicester
Comments from Revd Hugh McKee:
"The tangled corner of woods reflecting Nature's own unspoken praise of the Creator. Colours delightfully rich with a good composition"
"BEST PHOTO OF THE WHOLE COMPETITION"
Category 3
"Who from our mothers' arms, hath blest us on our way."
Winner: Christopher Clayton from Burton Lazars
Comments from Revd Hugh McKee:
"The child resting in the circle of family photos. A simple idea that caught the theme nicely".
Category 4
"With countless gifts of love, and still is ours today".
Winner: Mrs Maureen Hawksworth from Tilton on the Hill
Comments from Revd Hugh McKee:
"The baby peacefully asleep (for now!). An obvious and simple interpretation of the theme"
