Diary Dates 2010

2010 RETREAT DAYS
Theme: One Extraordinary Day
This year our Retreat Days are focused on one day in the life of Jesus (Matthew 14) and what this tells us about his love for us through all the experiences of life.  The days are informal and the programme aims to encourage all who attend to have the opportunity to draw near to God in a quiet setting and spend time with him.  There will be bible teaching and times for personal reflection in a friendly informal setting.

The Leprosy Mission Annual Bike Ride
Country to Capital
Saturday 26 June 2010

Start at Ware, Hertfordshire at 10.30am.
Length 25 miles

The Leprosy Mission's 2010 annual Bike Ride will repeat the spectacular route of the 2008 ride.  We will meander along towpaths from the countryside of Hertfordshire to the hustle and bustle of Canary Wharf and the River Thames.  There will be plenty of stops to take in the sites and marvel at how easily you can reach central London by following quiet waterways.  John Spielman will once again ably plan and lead the ride.  Riders can choose to return by train or for the fittest, ride all the way back again! Bring a picnic and enjoy a day which will help to change lives through The Leprosy Mission's Chittagong Hill Tracts project in Bangladesh.

WALKS OF HOPE
We hope you will be able to join us on our Walks of Hope in 2010.  This year in the East of England, we have three different walks.
Constable Country Walk of Hope
Wednesday 14 July 2010
Start at Dedham, Essex at 11.00am
Length 3 mile circular walk

Join us for our annual Constable Country Walk through the beautiful countryside made famous in the paintings of John Constable.  This will be a gentle walk through the vale of Dedham to Flatford Mill but for 2010 will not climb up the hill to top of the vale but remain down below.  This will no doubt be a great relief for some!  There will be lots of stops for commentary at the various locations of Constables pictures.  Bring a picnic to enjoy at Flatford Mill.  This is consistently our most popular sponsored walk of the year so why not join us and find out why.

Rivers and Spires Walk of Hope
Saturday 17 July 2010
Start at Littleport, Cambridgeshire at 10.30am
Walk length: 6 mile walk

Starting at Littleport on the banks of the Great River Ouse this beautiful walk follows gentle meanders of the river into the historic town of Ely.  The walk is flat and easy going with stunning views of the Cathedral. There will be plenty of time to see Ely and visit the Cathedral before catching a train of your choice back to Littleport.

Pier to Pier Walk of Hope
Saturday 14 August 2010

Start at Walton Pier, Essex at 10.30am
Length 7 miles each way

A return of this very popular summer walk along the seafront promenades from Walton Pier past Frinton to Clacton Pier.  You can choose to walk just one way and catch a bus back or join us for the return walk.  There will be free time in Clacton for lunch and sightseeing and plenty of opportunities to stop for an ice cream or refreshments.   Shorter walks are possible by stopping at Frinton and joining the group on their way back.  This will be a great day out on flat easy terrain varying from typical seafront scenes to open landscapes and nature reserves. Bring a picnic and spend a day with us and help change lives through the Chittagong Hill Tracts project in Bangladesh.
