We could not do the work God has called us to without the faithful committed support of volunteers. We are thrilled to have volunteers all over the world. The picture shows young people volunteering with The Leprosy Mission in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. All of them have parents or grandparents affected by leprosy and have experienced stigma or rejection. They have volunteered to make a difference so that people, who are diagnosed with leprosy today, will not have to suffer the same rejections as their family members.
They have committed their time to talking about leprosy in schools, holding rallies in streets and churches and visiting every single home in their community and slum every six months, to look for signs of leprosy. If they find someone, they will encourage them to go to our clinic and even take them to make sure they go. What a huge life-changing commitment and what a difference all of these young people are making as they volunteer with The Leprosy Mission in Bangladesh.
You too can make a difference and change lives by volunteering with us where you live. There are lots of things you can do to support your area co-ordinator and help bring healing and love to people affected by leprosy.
If you think you could help us with any of our volunteering opportunities, please do get in touch with your local area co-ordinator. We would love to hear from you.
