Walking to help people affected by leprosy

South Wales Walk of Hope
Brecon Beacons Mountain Centre
Saturday 26 June 2010

There are three routes to choose from-three, six and nine miles-and you can decide on the day which one to do. The short walk is easy underfoot and almost all on the level. The other two are a little more challenging, but if you're reasonably fit they shouldn't be a problem. Meet 11am at the Brecon Beacons Mountain Centre, also known as the National Park Visitor Centre, one and a half miles west of Libanus on the A470. Bring a packed lunch for the longer walks. Those on the shorter walk have the option of buying lunch in the Visitor Centre.  Good walking shoes or boots recommended.

Mid-Wales Walk of Hope
The Lake, Llandrindod Wells
Saturday 10 July 2010

The 'Two Bridges' eight mile walk follows woodland and hill pastures to Shaky Bridge and Alpine Bridge before returning to Llandrindod. Start at The Lake in Llandrindod at 10am-meet by the small car park on the north side (there's also free parking in Princes Road). Toilets nearby.  Bring a packed lunch to eat at Alpine Bridge. Fairly rough terrain in parts, so appropriate footwear highly recommended. Waterproof trousers might be useful for walking through occasional long wet grass or bracken if it's been raining.
