PRAYER ZONE
The Leprosy Mission is motivated by God's concern for the poor. We are a Mission born and cradled in prayer; nourished on prayer and prayer has been the foundation of our success.
We invite you to join with us in praying for our worldwide concerns.
|
Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

Country focus - SUDAN
Sudan is home to deserts, mountain ranges, swamps and rain forests. Decades of fighting have left Sudan's infrastructure in tatters. However, despite the insecurities which affect the implementation of leprosy work, we are able to continue. The Darfur Leprosy Control project includes disability care and services to displaced people. In Kordufan we support Leprosy Control and Socio-Economic Development (SED). Pray that the Association of People Affected by Leprosy in Sudan will be effective in ensuring that people with leprosy receive the support they need. In the western Kasai East region please pray that the pig breeding project in Tshimwnaza, a village with a large number of ex-leprosy patients, will continue to thrive. Pray also that new staff will be found in Darfur and Khartoum and for God's protection for staff as they travel around the region.

PRAYER REQUESTS:
-
Devastating rains hit Karnataka, Goa and
Andhra Pradesh in India recently causing
flooding and extensive damage to life and
property. Please pray for our volunteers
and beneficiaries, whose houses have been
damaged. 15 volunteers need urgent aid for
shelter. Please uphold the staff,
volunteers and beneficiaries in your prayers
as they come to terms with this latest disaster.
-
Please pray for Sudan. Recently Khartoum
was flooded because of extreme rain. It
hadn't rained so much since 1988.
The camps are still very wet and people
suffered a lot. Diseases are lurking round the
corner; malaria, typhoid, cholera and hepatitis.
-
Pray for Kuku-boy in Sudan, whose feet are damaged by leprosy and for the skilled
staff who are caring for him. Pray that the care
he receives will encourage him to look after
himself.
-
Pray for supporters who are coming to
terms with unemployment.
