The Dewan Foundation has worked in partnership with The Leprosy Mission since 2004, fostering sustainable development with a focus on training and livelihoods. Working from grass-roots level upwards, projects are designed, implemented and managed with full beneficiary consultation and participation. This working methodology ensures project ownership. Where possible, projects are funded using a revolving loan model, guaranteeing maximum impact and effectiveness.
Projects are co-ordinated by Louise Timmins, Trust Officer at The Leprosy Mission and by Ramesh Dewan, Trustee of The Dewan Foundation. Both Louise and Ramesh visit the projects regularly to ensure smooth implementation.
The Dewan Foundation is committed to achieving dignity and justice for marginalised groups though the implementation of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. All Dewan Foundation projects work towards the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals.
