EXPERIENCED VOLUNTEERS

Placements of 3 + months are available for professionals with at least 2-3 years' post qualification experience.  You may be assisting in a hospital or following the rehabilitation of leprosy patients in the community.

Skills needed:
  • Able to train, conduct workshops and teach health education
  • Working alongside other health professionals in the field of leprosy
  • Admin and IT work
Qualities needed:
  • Applicants are expected to have empathy with our Christian ethos, with a real interest in working in the mission overseas. Applicants should be in agreement with The Leprosy Mission's vision and values
  • You should be physically and emotionally fit and able to cope with working in a developing country
  • Good at working alongside others and able to cope with different cultures and ideas
  • Adaptable and resourceful and able to use own initiative and determination
  • You should also be fluent in English
Cost:
  • The Leprosy Mission will provide board and lodging during the placement
  • Applicants are required to raise own air fare and insurance and cover all costs for accommodation and food
