What the doctor ordered
Dr Paul Brand, pioneered reconstructive surgery for leprosy patients, and Dr Stanley Browne helped set up the All Africa Leprosy and Tuberculosis Rehabilitation Training Centre (ALERT) in Ethiopia. At ALERT medical professionals are taught how to treat leprosy complications in a 240-bed teaching hospital.
