The Leprosy Mission would like to say a massive “Thank You“ to:

Last year, when Joseph and Isaac from Leicester were ages 9 & 8, they collected £11.41 in a Leprosy Mission collecting box.  They put in spare coins from their pocket money and Mum and Dad’s spare change too! The money will buy a pair of sandals from our Gifts for Life chequebook.

They started collecting by asking family to donate at family get-togethers.

Isaac said, “I am really glad that the money is going to help people with leprosy because it doesn’t seem fair that if you get poorly in this country, you can get lots of help, but if you get leprosy in a poor country it is sometimes harder to get help”

Thank you very much for your thoughtfulness.  It is these special acts of kindness that help people affected by leprosy.

Trinity Baptist Church, Fleetwood took up a special offering for The Leprosy Mission.  Every family in the congregation was given a TLM envelope and each person was given a doll with a happy and sad face, which had been made by the Sunday school.  The children also did really well performing a sketch, which included audience participation and ensured that the TLM message was passed on.

Thank you to the children of Trinity Baptist Church, Fleetwood for raising £157.47.  Your generosity is helping to change the lives of leprosy affected people.

Thank you Sophie

My name is Sophie and I am 11 years old, from central London.

I have been raising money for The Leprosy Mission in my church, as I have learned about leprosy at school and my nanny told me how she collects money for TLM at her church.

I attend Holy Nation Church and I have had many people from my church ask me about your mission.  I have explained, as best as I can about it.

Last summer I turned out quite a lot of my old toys and other household items.  I was going to put them into the local charity shop when my mum suggested having a sale in the church to raise money for The Leprosy Mission.  I did this over several weeks and raised £87.50.

I was really encouraged and the people in the church enjoyed contributing to the work.   I plan to try and do a sale again, early next year and if possible send you another donation.

God bless you in your work. With much prayer.  Sophie.

Shoeburyness and Thorpe Bay Baptist Church Girls Brigade chose The Leprosy Mission as their charity to focus on whilst doing their 'Service' Badge. It involved researching the work of the charity, understanding what leprosy is and the problems it causes.

They raised £65 by doing a presentation during a Sunday Morning service in church and donations were given to The Leprosy Mission.

They also sold a box of TLM cats and badges. Thank you to leader Wendy Harrison and the Girls Brigade.

The boxes of kittens proved to be tremendously popular on Sunday 11 December 2005, at All Saint’s Parish Church, Small Heath, Birmingham, when Father Barry Smart even wore one during the 10.30 Morning Mass!  Blessings and thanks to you all.
