Short term placements overseas

Placements of 3-9 months are available for short-term professionals with at least 2-3 years’ post qualification experience.

Skills needed: 

• Able to train, conduct workshops and teach health education.Working alongside other health professionals in the field of leprosy.
• Admin and iT work

Qualities needed: 

• Applicants are expected to be personally committed Christians, with a real interest in working in the mission overseas after training. Applicants should be in agreement with The Leprosy Mission’s vision and values.  
• You should be physically and emotionally fit and able to cope with working in a developing country.  
• Good at working alongside others and able to cope with different cultures and ideas.  
• Adaptable and resourceful and able to use own initiative and determination.  
• Fluent in English.

Cost: 

• The Leprosy Mission will be provide board and lodging during the placement. 
•  Applicants are required to raise funds for own return air fare, insurance and medical costs.
•  Applications should be submitted six months prior to elective dates.

VOLUNTEERS

Volunteer placements of 3-6 months are an ideal opportunity for people with less than 2 years’ post qualification experience in healthcare or development.  You may be assisting in a hospital or following the rehabilitation of leprosy patients in the community.
