Trek for Treatment in 2010
This year's trek takes place from 17 - 29 October, and will be led by Jean Jones, Head of Fundraising and Communications at The Leprosy Mission.
On arrival in Kathmandu, the group will stay at The Leprosy Mission's Anandaban hospital in the aptly-named Valley of Joy, to meet the patients and see all aspects of our work at this community hospital.
The week-long trek around the Siklis route in the Annapurna range of mountains starts at Pokhara. The Siklis route is one of the last trekking areas where teahouses (used by commercial adventure companies) have not yet flourished and traditional camping sites are still used. This means quieter trails and the opportunity to enjoy the peace and stillness of the mountains.
The group will fly back from Pokhara to Kathmandu to see the beauty of the Himalayas. You will be able to take a flight around Everest and explore the bazaars and UNESCO cultural heritage sights of Patan.
Like a previous trekker, who said: "I will never forget my time spent in Nepal and the wonderful memories will be with me forever" why not join us on this 'once-in-a-lifetime' experience?
