CAKES, CAKES, CAKES!!
The letters say it all, but here's what Lucy, Faye and Evie's Mum told us:
'After looking through the Spring/Summer 2011 New Day, my three daughters were full of questions about leprosy and extremely upset to hear about the effects of the disease: that some people have to leave their families to live in leprosy villages. They desperately wanted to do something to help and they asked if they could make and sell cakes to raise funds. (I must stress that this was all their own idea and not mine)
After over four hours of hard work, fun and a kitchen completely covered in icing sugar they had made more than 100 cup cakes and buns. These were then taken to Trinity Baptist Church where members made a donation in exchange for a cake.' (Thanks Trinity Baptist Church!)
'They were completely sold out in no time and their 'customers' were extrememly generous.
We send our love to all involved in this tremendous work. It has been a pleasure and a privilege to support this ministry in this way.'
Lucy, Faye and Evie raised a magnificent £170 !! That's wonderful. Thank you so much for all your hard work . . .and thanks to your Mum too for the use of your kitchen for the baking session!
