Pray for leprosy outreach work in India this Christmas

"When they saw the star, they were overjoyed.” Matthew 2:10 (NIV)

  • Give thanks that Leprosy Mission staff are committed to going to hard to reach places in order to find and cure leprosy.
  • Pray for the many outreach teams in the countries supported by The Leprosy Mission, that their commitment to healing the whole person remains strong and that they reflect Jesus’ light in the world through their love and compassion.
  • Pray for the safety of staff travelling into remote and hard to reach places to find ‘the one’ affected by leprosy. Staff travel by jeep, motorbike, boat or rickshaw and sometimes for long distances on foot into hard to access villages. Thank God for the dedication and determination of these staff. Pray for God’s hand of protection on their vehicles, the roads they are travelling, and for their families at home.
  • Pray for the children and families being diagnosed with leprosy in hidden places. Often they have never heard of leprosy and have no experience of the disease. Pray for the families and parents who are already living a hand-to-mouth existence; that their needs will be provided for, made possible through the love and generosity of the faithful supporters of The Mission.

  • Give thanks for the staff working hard to educate families and communities where leprosy has been hidden. Pray that they will be able to build trust, settle fears where stigma and discrimination exist, speak the truth where ancient myths are prevalent and restore and reunite families and villages where people have been rejected.
