Do you want to work with the 2021 Fundraising Team of the year? Do you enjoy building relationships and inspiring others to bring lasting change? If so, we’d love to hear from you!

As part of a fun and supportive team, you’ll be changing the lives of people who have been rejected by society. There’s nothing more rewarding that that! We have a culture of growing and learning together, providing extensive training in fundraising and international development. We have awarding winning levels of staff engagement and we’re Charity Times and Third Sector award winners as well. In addition, you’ll also have exciting opportunities to visit projects overseas.

We’re looking for a relational person to nurture a group of major donors, meeting their needs as supporters to increase financial support for our work. It’s a fast-paced role with a high workload, demanding excellent attention to detail and exceptional analytical skills. Telling the stories of the communities we support is vital to this role, so you’ll have an external mentor who will hone your superb writing skills to fundraising perfection and guide you through training. It is likely that you will have had experience in fundraising or a commercial background in a sales, key account management, or customer-facing role.

Today, one person every two minutes is diagnosed with leprosy. It’s a disease of poverty, striking the most vulnerable. Left untreated, it causes permanent disability. Stigma means that people affected by this disease are often rejected by those closest to them.

The Leprosy Mission is the world’s largest leprosy-focused organisation, a pioneer in our field, with 140 years’ experience serving people affected by this disease. As a leading international Christian development charity, we work in 10 countries across Africa and Asia to defeat leprosy and transform lives.

The Leprosy Mission is an explicitly Christian charity, serving those of all faiths and none. You will represent the Mission’s purpose and ethos to external audiences and undertake biblical research to locate appropriate scripture for use in written material. There is an occupational requirement for the Partnerships Advisor to be a committed Christian.

The Leprosy Mission has a zero-tolerance policy towards any abuse, neglect and exploitation of all people. Successful candidates are expected to understand, sign and comply with all organisational policies, including the Safeguarding Code of Conduct and the Safeguarding Children & Vulnerable Adults Policy.

Recruitment to all roles within The Leprosy Mission includes criminal record checks and the collection of relevant references. A criminal record will not necessarily bar you from joining us as an employee; this will depend on the circumstances of any offences.

We are committed to diversity and welcome applications from appropriately qualified people from all sections of the community, who have permission to work in the UK.
