Do you enjoy public speaking and presenting? Can you inspire others to be passionate about transforming lives? If so, we’d love to hear from you!
We’re looking for inspirational communicators who will enjoy championing The Leprosy Mission at churches and community groups, both in person and on Zoom.
The Leprosy Mission is the world’s largest leprosy-focused organisation, a pioneer in our field, with more than 140 years’ experience serving people affected by this disease. As a leading international Christian development charity, we work in 10 countries across Africa and Asia to defeat leprosy and transform lives.
Today, one person every two minutes is diagnosed with leprosy. It’s a disease of poverty, striking the most vulnerable. Left untreated, it causes permanent disability. Stigma means that people affected by this disease are often rejected by those closest to them. Jesus healed people with leprosy, and this role is an amazing opportunity to continue this work and bring hope in His name.
The role is flexible in terms of hours, as we want it to be the best fit for you as you generously offer your skills and time. You’ll be given ongoing support, training and resources from your Community Partnerships Manager, who is only ever a phone call away. You may also have the exciting opportunity to visit our projects overseas.
The Leprosy Mission has a zero-tolerance policy towards any abuse, neglect and exploitation of all people. Successful candidates are expected to understand, sign and comply with our Global Safeguarding Code of Conduct and the Global Safeguarding Children & Vulnerable Adults Policy.
Recruitment to roles within The Leprosy Mission includes, in particular, criminal record checks and the collection of relevant references. A criminal record will not necessarily bar you from joining us as a volunteer; this will depend on the circumstances of any offences.
The Leprosy Mission is an explicitly Christian charity; empathy with the Christian ethos of the organisation is essential. We are committed to diversity and welcomes applications from appropriately qualified people from all sections of the community.
