(Ann Widdecombe 1947 – 2026)

We were shocked and saddened to hear of the murder of Ann Widdecombe last week.

Ann supported the work of Leprosy Mission all her life, and travelled to Ethiopia and Mozambique during her time as our Vice President. Ann campaigned tirelessly to overcome the discrimination faced by communities affected by leprosy. On a trip to Ethiopia with our current CEO Peter Waddup fifteen years ago Ann explained that she remembered her parents had a collection box in their hallway and this inspired her to learn more about leprosy.

We are so thankful for her support, for her faith in Jesus, and for the difference she made in her lifetime quest to represent people affected by leprosy.
