Across Africa, leprosy is devastating lives.
It’s a cruel injustice, especially when there is a cure. If you’re not treated quickly, the disease causes permanent disability. Hands, feet and even eyes rendered useless. Pushed further into poverty, you are denied the opportunity to build a better future. And age-old myths about the disease mean people still face heartbreaking stigma and rejection.
Today, people affected by leprosy are forgotten and ignored. You won’t hear their stories in the media. The injustice they face goes unreported. Their pain is hidden.
But God sees, and so do we.
At The Leprosy Mission, standing with our teams in Africa and compassionate people like you, we’re answering Jesus’ call to serve those affected by leprosy.
Will you join us?
From curing leprosy in Niger, to working for climate justice in Mozambique. From ending stigma in Ethiopia, to empowering young people to thrive in Nigeria.
You can make an amazing difference – transforming lives, standing up for justice, and igniting hope in Jesus’ name.

Turn heartbreak into hope
For young people affected by leprosy in Nigeria, the emotional impacts of the disease are often the hardest to bear.
Halima knows this all too well.
At just 16, Halima has faced more heartbreak than any child should.
Leprosy took everything from her. Her parents. Her friends. Her education. Her joy. With no one to talk to, she struggled with depression.
Then she met Sadia, trained by The Leprosy Mission Nigeria to provide counselling to young people.
For Halima, it was like stepping into the light.
“I learned about mental health and coping strategies”, Halima says. “Now I can see brightness in many things.”
Pain to peace. Sorrow to laughter. Heartbreak to hope.
Today, there are many more young people like Halima who need this same transformation.
This Christmas, you can train more women like Sadia to provide vital mental health support to young people affected by leprosy.
You can break down the stigma and fear that holds children like Halima back. And you can shine out the love and hope of Jesus to young people across Nigeria today.
Thank you for your support.
